Lorena Gallo

Lorena Gallo is an accomplished professional in the field of biomedical engineering, currently serving as a Full Counselor at DREAM since November 2021, providing vocational advice and support to students. Gallo held the position of Chairwoman at Beta Business Days from July 2022 to August 2023, organizing a significant recruitment event for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, which successfully attracted 40 companies and 500 students. An intern at UMCG, Gallo contributed to the design and development of a placenta perfusion machine, utilizing skills in 3D modeling, manufacturing, and assembly. As Team Leader for iGEM Groningen 2022 - Nanobuddy, Gallo led a multidisciplinary project that received a Golden medal and a Safety and Security award nomination at the Grand Jamboree in Paris. Previous experience includes serving as Acting Chief Executive Officer at Timta and participating in a biomedical engineering internship at the Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University. Gallo holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Groningen and a Bachelor of Engineering in Bioengineering from UTEC.
