Peter Schmid

Peter Schmid is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at KAUST, where they have been teaching since 2021. Previously, they served as a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Washington from 1993 to 2007 and held the position of Chair in Applied Mathematics at Imperial College London from 2013 to 2021. In addition, Peter was a Directeur de Recherche at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) from 2005 to 2015 and a Professeur charge de cours at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris from 2005 to 2014. Peter earned a Dipl.-Ing. from the Technical University Munich and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
