On 15 August 2014 shareholders of Kazakhmys PLC voted to approve a restructuring of the Group, details of which were set out in a Circular sent to shareholders in July 2014. All outstanding conditions to the restructuring were satisfied on 31 October 2014 with economic separation of the Disposal Assets effective from 1 August 2014. 

Following completion of the restructuring mature assets in the Zhezkazgan and Central Regions were transferred to Cuprum Holding, a private company owned by Vladimir Kim and Eduard Ogay, and retained the name Kazakhmys Corporation.
