Isabel van Mele

Isabel Van Mele is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in technology and digital transformation. Currently serving as the Chief Innovation, Digital Transformation & Performance Officer for International Markets and Chief Information Officer at KBC Bank & Verzekering since September 2021, Isabel previously held notable positions at ING from May 2016 to September 2021, including Chief Data Officer and IT senior manager for big data insights & analytics. Prior to her tenure at ING, Isabel was the ICT Director for Projects & Developments at De Persgroep Publishing, where management of a 300-member international team and a €50M ICT budget was pivotal. Isabel started at De Persgroep as Chief Enterprise Architect, focusing on digital transformation in the media business. With a career beginning as a Research Scientist at KULeuven, Isabel has also worked as an Executive Architect Manager at IBM and held various roles at BASE, building a robust foundation in IT architecture. Isabel holds two master's degrees, one in Biomedical and Clinical Engineering from Katholieke University Leuven and another in Physics from Ghent University.
