Nele Vandaele currently serves as General Manager of Product Policy for non-life insurance at KBC Bank & Verzekering since November 2018, following an extensive career at KBC Group, which included roles such as Department Head of the Risk Centre of Insurance and Team Lead for Risk Calculation & Result Analysis. Vandaele has a strong background in risk management, specifically in areas such as Solvency II implementation and reporting, risk-adjusted performance measurement, and financial planning from a risk perspective. Academic experience includes a tenure as a Visiting Professor at Ghent University and completion of a PhD focused on quadratic hedging in finance and insurance. Educational credentials include a Financial Risk Manager designation and a Master’s degree in Mathematics from Ghent University.
