Derek Walton

Derek Walton is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in program management and aviation operations. Currently serving as a Principal Specialist at KBR, Inc. since February 2020, Derek has conducted comprehensive C-sUAS strategy and policy analysis, including leading the development of the Department of Defense's first C-sUAS strategy and implementation plan. Previously, Derek spent nearly a decade with the US Army, holding various leadership roles as an Aviation Officer, commanding both manned and unmanned aviation platforms during deployments in Iraq, Syria, and South Korea. Derek's analytical skills were also utilized as a DoD Force Management Analyst at Turtle Reef Holdings from 2009 to 2011. Currently pursuing an MBA at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, Derek holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from Virginia Commonwealth University.
