Luisa Gomes

Orion HMTA Human System Integrator

Luisa Gomes is an experienced aerospace engineer with a focus on human systems integration and project management. Currently serving as the Orion HMTA Human System Integrator at KBR, Inc., Luisa supports the Johnson Space Center. Previous roles include Project Manager for the Spacesuit Simulator Project at the Colorado Space Grant Consortium, where skills in scheduling, conflict management, and team leadership were developed. Luisa contributed to the Human Landing System Project at the University of Colorado Boulder, working on design and mock-up development for Lockheed Martin, and led the NASA JPL Robotic Assembly Project during senior design at the Florida Institute of Technology. Additionally, a research assistant position at the Center for Space Science and Engineering at Virginia Tech involved preliminary design for propulsion testing. Luisa holds a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering with a Bioastronautics focus from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology.
