John Backus

John Backus is an experienced venture capital professional and entrepreneur with a significant track record in the technology and finance sectors. Currently serving as Managing Partner at PROOF since January 2015 and as a Senior Adviser at KBW Ventures since January 2017, Backus has been instrumental in advising and managing investment strategies that enhance returns for seed and early-stage funds. With a history of successful exits as Managing Partner at NAV.VC from 2006 and as CEO of PROOF Acquisition Corp I until November 2023, Backus has demonstrated expertise in fostering growth and innovation.
