Emily Lin has extensive work experience in marketing and research. Emily began their career in 2007 as an Assistant at Nice Garden Industrial Co., Ltd. In 2010, they worked as an Editorial Assistant at Boston University. In 2011, they worked at Boston University College of Communication as a Research Assistant on the Taiwanese News Media project, where they developed survey measurement for the Taiwan's national identity and media use questionnaire, performed data analysis, conducted content analysis including coding Taiwan's newspaper and TV news during 2012 presidential election, and scheduled interviews with media practitioners and transcribed them. In 2012, they joined Kdan Mobile as a Marketing Specialist and was later promoted to Assistant Marketing Manager and Global Marketing Manager.

Emily Lin attended Soo Chow University from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in English. Emily then went on to Boston University College of Communication, where they received a Master of Science in Mass Communication in 2011.
