Jakob Petsovits has a diverse work experience in software development, primarily focusing on C++ and web development. Jakob started their career as a Google Summer of Code participant in 2006 and 2007, working on KDE/C++ and Drupal/PHP projects. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Software Developer at Pro.Karriere Furtmüller & Scheubinger OEG, where they worked on web development projects using PHP and Drupal. Jakob then joined BlackBerry in 2009 and worked as a Software Developer, primarily focusing on mobile web browser development using C++ and WebKit. Jakob also worked on graphics optimization and bug fixing for the BlackBerry 10 browser using OpenGL and QNX APIs. In 2014, they worked as a Systems Software Developer II at BlackBerry, where they were responsible for networking glue code and web app development. Jakob also worked as a Software Developer at Topology LP during that time, focusing on C++ development and software architecture. In 2016, Jakob joined SoundHound Inc as a Staff Software Developer, where they worked on Automatic Speech Recognition and Natural Language Understanding using C++. Jakob'snotable projects included spearheading German ASR support and working on features, fixes, and runtime optimization for SoundHound's production server and inference code. Most recently, in 2023, Jakob volunteered as a Software Developer for KDE, working part-time on the open-source KDE Plasma 6 desktop for Linux and related applications.

Jakob Petsovits completed their Master's Degree in Software Engineering & Internet Computing from Technische Universität Wien, where they studied from 2002 to 2009. Later, in 2013-2014, they pursued a Mandarin Chinese Language Course at Ocean University of China.
