Robert Baugh has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries. Robert is currently the CEO of Keepabl, a company that provides Privacy SaaS solutions and helps organizations implement GDPR compliance. Robert joined Keepabl in November 2017.
Prior to their role at Keepabl, Robert worked as an Advisor at SafePorter, focusing on diversity and inclusion programs and sensitive personal data protection. Robert joined SafePorter in May 2021.
From February 2016 to August 2017, Robert served as the General Counsel & Director at Drayson Technologies Ltd, an IoT platform company specializing in wireless energy, mobile apps, data analytics, and digital health.
Robert also held the position of EVP & General Counsel at LoopUp, a conference call and web sharing platform company, from March 2004 to February 2016. In this role, they were responsible for all legal and regulatory matters as the company grew globally.
Before their time at LoopUp, Robert had various roles at Ring2 Communications Limited, starting as the VP of Business Development & General Counsel from March 2004 to March 2010, and later as the Business Development Manager and General Counsel from March 2004 to January 2009.
Other notable experiences include working as a Senior Solicitor in IT & e-Business at Simmons & Simmons in London from 2002 to 2003, as well as founding their own company, Little Red Gate, in Melbourne from 2001 to 2002.
Robert started their legal career as a Senior Solicitor specializing in Corporate IT at Minter Ellison in Melbourne from 2000 to 2001, and prior to that, they worked as a Senior Solicitor in IP, IT & e-Commerce at Simmons & Simmons in Hong Kong from 1997 to 2000.
Robert Baugh completed their undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) and a Master of Arts degree in the fields of Engineering, Economics & Management. In 1996, they attended the University of Bristol and earned a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law & Practice. Additionally, they enrolled at the School of Law, Manchester Metropolitan University from 1991 to 1993, where they pursued a CPE & LSF degree in Law. Robert Baugh has also obtained multiple certifications in the field of privacy, including being a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), and a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) from The International Association of Privacy Professionals, in October 2020 and March 2020, respectively.
