Ken Monnens

Ken is the founding principal and Executive Creative Director, overseeing all creative work. Ken graduated with highest honors with a B.S. in Fine Art from UC Davis having studied with many of California’s leading contemporary artists, including Wayne Thiebaud, Roland Peterson, and Manuel Neri. He then studied design at CCA and simultaneously began his career as a designer for Cato Johnson, a design subsidiary of Young and Rubicam. While working full-time, Ken attended evening classes and received his law degree in the spring of 1983.

In the fall of 1983, Ken founded what is now KenCreative with a portfolio of clients that included The Clorox Company, Atari Home Computers, and Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream. Ken’s 30-year career in design spans all categories and industries. He has provided design solutions and account services to America’s top companies. His design sense is strategic, brand-focused, and award winning.

Ken spends much of his personal time with philanthropic work. He serves on the boards of the Manetti-Shrem Museum of Art at UC Davis, the Foundation for Tibetan Cultural Preservation, and the Advisory Board of The Taylor Family Foundation, which provides weeklong camp experiences for children with life-threatening illnesses.
