Jon Hale

Jon Hale is an experienced sports journalist specializing in coverage of the University of Kentucky athletics. Currently serving as a football reporter for the Lexington Herald-Leader since August 2022, Jon previously held the position of lead reporter for the Courier Journal, focusing on Kentucky men's basketball and football for seven years. Prior to that, Jon was the primary beat writer for The Cats' Pause magazine and KyForward, where Jon led Central Kentucky sports coverage. Jon's early experience includes a graduate assistant role at the Institute for Rural Journalism and a student assistant position at the University of Kentucky, alongside an internship with Lexington Legends. Jon holds both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Communication and Journalism from the University of Kentucky.
