Darrell Smith

Qualifying as a solicitor in 1995, Darrell joined Keoghs in 2012 and has over 20 years′ experience handling disease related claims, particularly asbestos related cancers. His current practice largely involves absestos related mesothelioma and lung cancer. In addition he handles claims for rare cancers including nasal, bladder and endocrine; securing many discontinuances resulting in savings of several million pounds to his client's.

Amongst Darrell′s notable cases is Smith v Deanpast Ltd & Others (the first decision on material injury dealing with asymptomatic pleural thickening following test litigation for asymptomatic asbestosis claims in Beddoes v Vinters). He also provides training on all aspects of asbestos, NIHL and disease claims handling and writes and lectures on disease related matters.
