Jonathan Lung has a diverse work experience in the software development field. Jonathan began their career as a Course Instructor at the University of Toronto, teaching courses on various programming languages and software development concepts. Jonathan then co-founded a startup called Sojourn Labs, where they developed multiprocessing embedded firmware for safety-critical systems and performed various roles associated with running a startup, including system administration and IP design. Afterward, Lung joined Kepler Communications Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they developed software for onboard satellites, ground station automation software, and supported network operations team's analytics. Jonathan later became the Manager of Software Development at Kepler Communications Inc., where they grew the software team, streamlined the hiring process, and provided leadership on various projects. Jonathan'smost recent role at Kepler Communications Inc. is Principal Software Designer, where they continue to contribute to satellite constellation management and the delivery of internet service to satellites.

Jonathan Lung has an extensive education history. Jonathan began their academic journey at the University of Toronto Schools, where they completed their secondary education from 1997 to 2003. After that, they pursued higher studies at the University of Toronto - University of Trinity College from 2003 to 2006 and obtained an Hon. BSc. degree with a focus on computer science (human-computer interaction), human biology, and psychology. Following this, Jonathan Lung continued their education at the University of Toronto, earning an M.Sc. degree in Computer Science in 2007. Jonathan further progressed in their academic career and completed their PhD in Computer Science at the University of Toronto in 2017.
