Ketchikan Sam’s is a family-run Alaska smokehouse led by lifelong Alaskan Sam Pflaum, crafting small-batch smoked salmon and black cod in the heart of Ketchikan. Rooted in generations of tradition, our signature smoked salmon recipe has been refined over decades—beginning as a family staple and growing into a nationwide favorite.

Sam grew up in Herring Cove, where he now lives with his wife and three children—passing on the same love for fishing, the ocean, and Alaska’s wild bounty. Every batch we produce is smoked locally in Ketchikan, with Sam personally overseeing crafting, quality, and consistency alongside a tight-knit team of family and friends.

In addition to timeless recipes, Sam brings innovation to the smokehouse with his own handcrafted smoked black cod—a customer favorite born through experimentation and expertise.
