Grainne O'Dea

Grainne O'Dea is a dedicated professional in the field of social work with extensive experience advocating for vulnerable populations. They served as a Residential Social Worker with the Catholic Children's Society from 1997 to 2002, providing support to severely abused children, and worked as a Remand Coordinator with the Youth Justice Board from 2002 to 2007, emphasizing community-based alternatives to custody. Grainne's commitment to community engagement continued as a Community Liaison Officer for the Western Region Drug Task Force from 2007 to 2010, and they later became a Primary Researcher at the Kettering Foundation, where they examine civic learning in community networks. Grainne is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at NUI Galway, having already completed degrees in Psychology and Psychoanalytical Observational Studies.
