David Young

David Young is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in environmental policy, law, and energy regulation. Currently serving as a Principal Advisor at Arup, David focuses on guiding clients toward a nature-positive net zero economy by integrating science, law, and economics. As a Partner at Wheatley Young Partners, David works on complex policy challenges related to energy, water, and the natural environment. Additionally, in roles such as Senior Fellow at Broadway Initiative and Lawyer at Keypoint Law, David has supported the development of environmental markets and addressed regulatory matters in clean energy. David's previous positions include Director of Energy at the Victorian Essential Services Commission, General Manager at VicUrban, and Executive Director at Natural England, where strategic leadership and significant regulatory initiatives were undertaken. David holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne and advanced management education from institutions such as INSEAD and Melbourne Business School.
