KFUPM ASCENT (Autonomous Systems for Control, Engineering, Navigation, and Testing) is a student-led engineering team at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals dedicated to designing, developing, and testing advanced autonomous unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The team brings together students from multiple engineering and technology disciplines to build intelligent drone solutions for the international Student Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) competition. Through innovation in AI, computer vision, autonomous navigation, avionics, communications, payload integration, and systems engineering, ASCENT provides members with hands-on experience in solving real-world engineering challenges while promoting teamwork, research, and technical excellence. Our mission is to develop mission-ready autonomous aerial systems that represent KFUPM on the global stage and prepare future engineers to lead in robotics and autonomous technologies.
