Kathleen O'Rourke

Director of Analysis at Kharon

Kathleen O'Rourke has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2008 when they were a Lead Counselor at Congressional Camp. In 2013, they were an Academic Research Intern at the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies, and a Virtual Student Foreign Service (VSFS) eIntern at the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where they liaised with the Isfara American Corner on behalf of the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy, designed and hosted video conferences, produced regular reports, and promoted development in participants' English language proficiency. In 2015, they were a Research Intern at the Hudson Institute. Since 2016, they have been working at Kharon, where they have held the roles of Analyst, Senior Analyst, Team Lead of Quality Assurance, and Director of Analysis.

Kathleen O'Rourke received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with High Distinction from the University of Virginia in 2014, majoring in Russian and East European Studies and Russian Language and Literature. Prior to that, they attended Georgetown Visitation from 2006 to 2010, where they completed their high school education. In 2015, they obtained their Master of Letters (MLitt) from the University of St Andrews, specializing in Middle East, Caucasus and Central Asian Security Studies.
