Matthew Piper

Founder, CPO at KHULA!

Matthew Piper has a diverse work experience, having worked as a Founder, CPO of KHULA!, a Director of MoneyTree Group, an Allan Gray Fellow at the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, and a Director of Made with Rural. Matthew's work at KHULA! began in 2016, where they created technology solutions for agriculture in Africa. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as a Director of MoneyTree Group, which was founded by three students to promote financial inclusion. In 2012, they became an Allan Gray Fellow at the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation, investing in a long-term legacy of greatness through inspiring and developing individuals. Finally, in 2015, they began working as a Director of Made with Rural.

Matthew Piper completed a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a B.Bus.Sci (Bachelor of Business Science) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Cape Town between 2013 and 2017. During 2014 and 2015, they attended the University of British Columbia and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Commerce. Matthew also attended Maritzburg College between 2008 and 2012.
