Larisa Thomas has held a variety of roles in the past twenty-two years. In 1999, they were the Studio Manager at Linda Russell Photography. From 2001 to 2004, they were the Communications Coordinator at Marin Horizon School. From 2004 to 2006, they were the Wholesale Sales Supervisor at Smith & Hawken, and the Director of Reservations and Content Marketer at Hornblower from 2006 to 2014. From 2014 to 2021, they were the Director, Division Systems & Process, IT and Operations Manager, Center of Excellence at The Pasha Group. Most recently, they have been the Vice President Operations at Kickfin since 2021.

Larisa Thomas's education history includes a Master of Arts in Humanities from Dominican University of California, which they obtained between 1999 and 2002. Larisa also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and History from New York University between 1995 and 1999. Prior to that, they attended Tamalpais High School between 1991 and 1995. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from LinkedIn for Learning Asana and Learning Slack in 2021, as well as certifications from the Management and Strategy Institute for Six Sigma Green Belt and Project Management - Lean Process Certified in 2018.
