Fitness Coach at Kickoff

Adam Power has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Adam started their career in 2016 as a Behavioral Therapist at Eastern Health and worked there until 2018. In 2018, they briefly served as an Inclusion Specialist at the City of St. John's. Adam then joined the Association for New Canadians as a Youth Settlement Counsellor from 2018 to 2020. Following that, they worked at Ready, Willing and Able as a Labour Market Facilitator for several months in 2020. Adam also held the position of Employment Practitioner/ IM&M+ Facilitator at The John Howard Society of Newfoundland and Labrador from 2020 to 2021. Currently, they are the Employment Services Program Manager at The John Howard Society since September 2021. Adam's latest work will be as a Fitness Coach at Kickoff, starting in April 2023.

Adam Power holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. In terms of additional certifications, they have completed Career Development Theories Training from CCDF-FCDC in June 2021, Mental Health First Aid from the Mental Health Commission of Canada in June 2021, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) from LivingWorks in January 2021, Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED from the Canadian Red Cross in September 2022, Personal Trainer Certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE Fitness) in April 2023. Furthermore, they have certifications in IELTS Teaching Specialist and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from Premier TEFL. Specific months and years of completion were not provided for the TEFL certifications.
