David Mateo

VP of Data Science and Technology at Kido Dynamics

David Mateo has a wealth of work experience in the fields of data science and technology, research, and teaching. David began their career in 2008 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Barcelona. In the same year, they also held a Summer Fellowship Program 2008 grant at ICFO, where they worked on the project "Frequency Entanglement of paired photons generated in Spontaneous Parametric DownConversion" under the supervision of Dr. Juan P. From 2009 to 2013, they were a PhD student at the University of Barcelona, where they studied many-body system dynamics, ultra-cold quantum fluids, and the structure and dynamics of liquid helium and its interactions with dopants. During this time, they also held the role of Lecturer Assistant. In 2013, they were a Research Scholar at California State University, Northridge. From 2014 to 2019, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Since 2019, they have been the VP of Data Science and Technology and a Data Scientist at Kido Dynamics.

David Mateo's educational history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from Universitat de Barcelona, which they obtained between 2009 and 2013. David also holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Astrophysics, Particle Physics and Cosmology from Universitat de Barcelona, which they obtained between 2008 and 2009. Furthermore, they hold a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics from Universitat de Barcelona, which they obtained between 2003 and 2008. David is also currently enrolled in a Computer Science course at Udacity.

David Mateo also holds various certifications from Coursera, including a Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, and Machine Learning, which they obtained between 2017 and 2018.
