Alex Gabriel has over a decade of experience in software engineering and web development. In 2008, they began their career as a Web Developer Intern at Affinity Systems Ltd., where they designed and implemented new interfaces for various .NET based in-house business applications. Alex also worked on a proof of concept project to test the feasibility of a 3D engine. From 2010 to 2011, Alex worked as a Programmer at McMaster University, where they implemented clustering algorithms for statistical analysis. Alex then moved on to PSH Canada, where they developed a custom online store for a local pottery supply company. In 2013, Alex worked as a Web Developer at Critical Mass, where they developed mobile websites for Nissan/Infiniti USA. Alex also took on a contract role as a Web Developer at Veriday Inc., where they created a scraping tool to traverse over a website and find and extract text, images, and documents. From 2015 to 2019, Alex worked as a Software Engineer at Sensor Tower, where they created tools, visualizations, and interfaces for data analysis and scripts for internal accuracy checks. Alex also optimized Javascript/Knockout. Currently, Alex is working as a Senior Software Engineer at Instacart, where they work on the Instacart Connect API platform.

Alex Gabriel completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Computer Science from McMaster University between 2008 and 2013.
