Ruby Franklin

Ruby Franklin is a Trainee Patent Attorney at Kilburn & Strode since October 2025. Prior to this role, Ruby served as a Student Ambassador at The University of Sheffield from September 2022 to September 2025, engaging with young people and parents at various events. Ruby also held the position of Student Representative at the Sheffield Engineering Leadership Academy from June 2021 to July 2023, focusing on skills development and industry networking. As the Inclusion Officer for the University of Sheffield General Engineering Masters Society (GEMSoc) from May 2021 to April 2022, Ruby worked to remove barriers for event participation and resolve conflicts. Additionally, Ruby gained experience as a Project Engineer at WiLD Hydrogen from July to September 2022, contributing to the development of carbon negative hydrogen processes. Ruby completed an industrial placement as a Project Manager at AtkinsRéalis from July 2023 to July 2024, managing fast-paced construction projects. Ruby earned a 1st class degree in General Engineering from The University of Sheffield between 2020 and 2025.
