As Chief Research Officer, Claire leads a team of 15 researchers and survey experts across multiple country offices. She provides strategic direction to major research projects, manages and builds strong client relationships, develops academic partnerships, and keeps the team abreast of new and innovative techniques and methods in research design and implementation.

Claire has over 20 years of experience in research, analysis, and business consulting. For the last 12 years, she has focused on quantitative and qualitative evaluation research and operations. Her areas of expertise include disaster risk management and risk finance, social and child protection, food security, and poverty measurement. Before turning to the field of evaluation and development assistance, Claire worked in software development. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Colorado, an MA in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University, and a BA in French and International Studies from Washington University.
