Michael Calvin

Michael Calvin is an experienced technology leader with a diverse background in software engineering and development. Michael is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Kinectify, where they lead the technology strategy, architecture, and delivery of their Anti Money Laundering technology.

Before joining Kinectify, Michael worked at Rubbl as the Director of Software Engineering. In this role, they were responsible for leading and growing the engineering and DevOps team. Michael established technology and delivery best practices, collaborated with peers to improve development processes, and provided guidance on technology and infrastructure. Michael also accomplished several notable achievements, including delivering scalable serverless cloud infrastructure and implementing a robust quality assurance program.

Prior to Rubbl, Michael held multiple roles at Mitek Systems. Michael started as a Senior Software Engineer and then progressed to the position of Lead Software Engineer, where they led a team responsible for delivering Mitek's flagship software to major financial institutions. Michael later became the Director of Engineering, overseeing the scrum team and collaborating with leaders across the organization.

Michael also has experience as the Owner and Chief Developer of MCWebPros, a software engineering and web development consulting company. Additionally, they worked at Bridgepoint Education as a Solution Architect and Lead Software Developer, where they played a key role in unifying architecture and development practices and managing a team responsible for maintaining custom software solutions.

Earlier in their career, Michael served as a Stinger Gunner in the United States Marine Corps.

Michael Calvin has a diverse education history. In 2000, they obtained their high school diploma from Dwight Township High School. Michael then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology with a focus on Web Development from the University of Phoenix from 2009 to 2012.

In 2013, Michael enrolled at the University of Phoenix again, this time for a Master of Information Systems degree, specializing in Management Information Systems. Michael completed this program in 2014.

In 2018, Michael attended Cornell University for a short period and obtained a High Performance Leadership Certificate in Business Administration and Management.

Furthermore, in June 2020, they acquired the AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
