David Shurtleff

David Shurtleff is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Director of Communications for King County, WA since June 2015, where responsibilities include leading a skilled communications and public affairs team within the legislative branch. Prior to this role, David held the position of Vice President at Strategies 360 from March 2009 to June 2015, where participation on the executive team involved managing strategic campaigns across 10 Western states. David began at Strategies 360 as Director of Operations, achieving a promotion to this leadership role shortly after starting. Earlier career experience includes serving as a journalist and political reporter for Alaska Public Media from November 2004 to June 2008, with contributions to National Public Radio's various programs. David holds a Bachelor's Degree in History and Classics from the University of New Hampshire and has served as a Writing Instructor at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
