Katy Vanderpool

Katy Vanderpool has over 27 years of experience at the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, where notable roles include Floodplain Policy, Planning and Communication Team Supervisor and various positions focused on river basin coordination and project management. Vanderpool leads organizational development initiatives to identify cultural barriers and enhance equity within the department. Previous roles include Rural Stewardship Program Manager, where the development of innovative programs for land stewardship was emphasized, and Business Development Manager at Foss Environmental Services. Earlier experience includes environmental planning with the National Park Service at Yellowstone National Park. Vanderpool holds a BA in Economics, Environment, and Sociology from Whitman College.
