Michael Lufkin

Michael Lufkin serves as the Local Food Economy Manager for King County, WA, since September 2015. Lufkin previously worked as a Land Tenure Attorney for Landesa from August 2011 to August 2015, where responsibilities included managing donor-funded projects aimed at improving land access and tenure security in developing countries. Additionally, Lufkin was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Washington School of Law from January 2010 to June 2014, teaching climate change law and policy. Prior roles also include Senior Environmental Strategy Manager at the Port of Seattle, where sustainability initiatives for Sea-Tac Airport were developed, and a Partner at Marten Law Group, focusing on environmental and natural resource issues. Lufkin's earlier experience includes a fellowship with the Robert Bosch Foundation in Germany and serving as an Assistant Attorney General at the Washington State Attorney General's Office. Lufkin holds a JD from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a BA in Political Economy from Michigan State University.
