Senior Principal Legislative Analyst at King County

Sam Porter, MPA, serves as a Senior Principal Legislative Analyst for the Metropolitan King County Council since January 2016, following a progressive career within the same council as Principal Legislative Analyst, Senior Legislative Analyst, and Legislative Analyst. Prior to this role, Sam held positions in the Behavioral Health & Recovery Division of the Department of Community & Human Services, including Assistant to the Director and Administrative Supervisor for Crisis and Commitment Services. Sam's experience also encompasses program management and community outreach at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, crisis intervention roles at Crisis Connections, and grant coordination at the Holocaust Center for Humanity. Sam holds a Master of Public Administration in Public Administration and Policy from The Evergreen State College and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Pacific Lutheran University.
