David Phillips is a Senior Associate in the Private Credit & Special Situations group at King & Spalding since July 2022. Previously, Phillips served as Legal Counsel at Navig8 Group, handling matters related to asset management, ship ownership, and fuel management supply, with a focus on loan agreements and trade finance. Prior to that, from September 2013 to February 2021, Phillips worked as an Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, representing private equity funds, banks, and distressed debt funds on various finance matters. Phillips also completed a legal secondment at Deutsche Bank in leveraged debt capital markets, advising on risk exposure and investment grade documentation. Educational qualifications include a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The University of Law and a Bachelor of Laws degree from City St George’s, University of London.
