Gary Messplay is a partner in the FDA & Life Sciences practice at King & Spalding, providing legal counsel to large multi-national and emerging life sciences companies on pharmaceutical and medical device development and regulation since April 2016. Prior to this role, Gary served as a partner at Hunton & Williams LLP, where Gary chaired the Life Sciences Practice and co-chaired the Food and Drug Practice from 2003 to 2016. Gary's earlier experience includes serving as counsel for Eli Lilly and Company, where responsibility encompassed FDA regulatory and compliance issues for the company's top-selling product, and practicing as an attorney at Ice Miller, focusing on mass tort litigation for major pharmaceutical companies. Gary holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Government from Indiana University Bloomington.
