Phil Howard

Phil Howard is an experienced Director of Data Science at King, leading a team of over 70 data scientists globally since February 2016, and serving as the tech lead for the London business performance unit since April 2014. Prior to this, Phil worked at NERC as a Modeller for the Environment from June 2009 to October 2012, focusing on model and software development for flood forecasting and researching hydro-meteorological theory. Earlier in Phil's career, a Postdoctoral Researcher in Applied Mathematics at Queen Mary, University of London involved investigating topics such as intermittency, chaos, fractals, and anomalous diffusion in dynamical systems. Phil holds a PhD in Mathematics from Royal Holloway, University of London, completed in 2007, and an MPhys in Physics from the University of Oxford, completed in 2001.
