King's Ely
Alan Parkinson has extensive work experience in the field of Geography. Alan began their career as a Head of Geography at King Edward VII School in King's Lynn in 1988 and held this position until 2008. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as the Secondary Curriculum Development Leader at the Geographical Association. In 2011, Alan became a Freelance author, trainer, and consultant specializing in Geography. In 2013, they joined King's Ely as a Teacher of Geography and later became the Head of Geography at King's Ely Prep. Alan's commitment to the field led him to become the President of the Geographical Association in 2021.
Alan Parkinson started their education at Wickersley Comprehensive, where they studied from 1975 to 1982. After completing their secondary education, they enrolled in Huddersfield Polytechnic and pursued a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Geography, graduating in 1985. The following year, they attended the University of Hull and obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a specialization in Geography.
