Michelle Bird has a diverse work experience starting in 2005 as an Administrative Assistant at Stamford Endowed Schools. Michelle then worked at OCR and Cambridge International Examinations in administrative roles. In 2011, they became a Sport and Exercise Coach till 2022. From 2018 to 2022, Michelle served as a voluntary Race Director at Sutton Beast, where they managed budgets, secured sponsors, and increased brand recognition. Michelle joined King's Ely in 2022 and is currently serving as the Head of Cross Country and Athletics, responsible for coaching, administration, and leadership in these sports, as well as delivering strength and conditioning training.

Michelle Bird has a diverse education history. Michelle obtained a Master of Science degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology from AECC University College from 2023 to 2025. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2023, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Sport, Fitness, and Coaching from The Open University. In 2021, they completed a course at The Open University focused on learning from sport burnout and overtraining. In 2020, they undertook a study at The Open University exploring the psychological aspects of sport injury. In 2019, they obtained a diploma titled "Coaching Others to Coach" with a specialization in Sports and Exercise from The Open University. Michelle'searlier educational background includes completing a Higher Diploma in Administrative Procedures from Stamford College in 2004-2005. Furthermore, they pursued a Graphic Design A Level from Grantham College in 1998-2000, along with a GNVQ Art & Design course at the same institution.
