Timothy Wyndham-Smith has a diverse range of work experience in outdoor education and management roles. Timothy has worked as an Assistant Director of Outdoor Education and Duke of Edinburgh Manager at King's Ely since 2020. Prior to that, they worked at LVS Ascot from 2015 to 2023, where they held various positions including Boarding Housemaster, Head of Outdoor Education, and Duke of Edinburgh Award Centre Manager. Timothy also has experience as an Expedition Leader at Wilderness Expertise in 2015, where they planned and led a month-long expedition to Uganda. Additionally, they worked at Insight Adventures China as an International D of E Manager and Safety & Training Development Manager from 2014 to 2015. Timothy has also held positions at various other organizations, including Edmund Park Outdoor Education, Lochgoilhead National Activity Centre, Murray River Canoe and Kayak, The Bushcraft Company, Longridge Activity Centre, and Sedbergh School Canada.
Timothy Wyndham-Smith began their education at Egerton-Rothersay School in 2000, where they completed their GCSEs until 2005. Following that, they attended Bicton College from 2005 to 2007, obtaining a Certificate in Outdoor Education and Leadership with a focus on Outdoor Education.
In terms of additional certifications, Timothy obtained various qualifications. In 2006, they received a Level 2 Coach BCU from British Canoeing. Timothy further enhanced their skills by obtaining a Summer Mountain Leader certification from The British Mountaineering Council in 2012. In 2013, they earned a Single Pitch Award from the same institution and also became a supervisor for The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Additionally, they obtained the RYA Power Boat Safety certification from the Royal Yachting Association and a BCU White Water Safety Endorsement from British Canoeing in 2013. In 2015, they obtained a Level 2 Award in Outdoor First Aid from First Aid Awards Limited. Timothy continued to expand their qualifications by obtaining a Level 2 Coaching certificate from the Boarding Schools' Association in Pastoral Care and Boarding Management in 2019. Lastly, in 2017, they received an Assessor certification from The Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
