Eric Thompson

Eric Thompson serves as the VP of Engineering at Kion, a position held since June 2025. Previously, Eric held the role of VP of Engineering at TrovaTrip from January 2023 to June 2025, where responsibilities included leading product and engineering efforts, optimizing team structure to reduce customer acquisition costs significantly, and enhancing team throughput. Prior to TrovaTrip, Eric spent over eight years at Puppet, culminating in the role of Director of Engineering, overseeing a team of 45+ engineers and ensuring delivery across multiple product programs. Eric's engineering career began at IBM, where notable achievements included leading a team to develop test automation software and significantly reducing customer-reported bugs. Eric holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Computer and Systems Engineering and Electrical Engineering, respectively, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
