Alfredo S. has a diverse and extensive work experience. Alfredo began their career as Chief Engineer on the USS Rentz from August 2006 to April 2008, leading a department of over sixty-five personnel and winning consecutive Engineering Excellence Awards. Alfredo then served as Chief Engineer on the USS Gettysburg from August 2008 to November 2009, where they led a department of over eighty-five personnel, achieving high equipment availability and winning consecutive Battle Efficiency and Engineering Excellence awards.

In 2011, Alfredo served as Flag Aide at Commander Naval Air and Missile Defense Command from March 2011 to June 2012. Alfredo then joined the Joint Staff, Middle East Directorate as a Politico-Military Planner from July 2012 to July 2014, providing military policy recommendations regarding Iran and the greater Middle East.

Alfredo's next role was on the USS John S. McCain (DDG 56), where they served as Executive Officer from April 2015 to September 2016. Alfredo developed and executed shipboard routines and successfully coordinated and executed multiple training and material inspections. Following this, they served as Commanding Officer from September 2016 to October 2017, leading and maintaining the morale, welfare, and training of a large team and executing operations in the Indo-Pacific area of operations.

From October 2017 to April 2018, Alfredo worked as a Policy and Plans Officer at Commander Naval Forces Japan, identifying gaps in command and control for navy forces in Japan. Alfredo then joined Aegis Training and Readiness Center as a Senior Instructor from May 2018 to August 2020. Here, they reviewed and executed training curriculums and developed integrated courses of instruction for the Aegis Weapons Systems.

Currently, Alfredo holds the position of Senior Systems Engineer at Kitty Hawk Technologies, starting from August 2020.

Alfredo S. has a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in National Security Policy Studies, which was obtained from the U.S. Naval War College from 2009 to 2010. Prior to their master's degree, they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, where they studied between 1991 and 1997. Furthermore, Alfredo S. holds an Active Clearance: Top Secret SCI certification from DoNCAF. However, no specific information regarding the month or year of obtaining this clearance is provided.
