Rob Schoenbeck

Rob Schoenbeck is a seasoned data and machine learning professional with extensive experience at Kiva since September 2014, where current responsibilities include optimization of search relevance and implementation of LLM-powered features as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer. Previously held roles at Kiva include Senior Machine Learning Engineer, where contributions included the development of personalization algorithms, and Senior Data Scientist, instrumental in designing a loan recommendation system that achieved a significant conversion lift. Additional experience encompasses data management and analytics, evidenced during time as Data Analytics Manager and Partnerships Evaluation Manager, where responsibilities included dimensional modeling, A/B testing processes, and social impact assessment. Prior to Kiva, Rob served as a Writing Specialist and Data Analyst at UC Irvine, developing evaluation frameworks and employing statistical analyses. Rob holds a PhD in Digital Humanities from UC Irvine and a Certificate in Data Science from the University of California, Irvine Division of Continuing Education.
