Alex Smith

Alex Smith, CFA is a board member and private investor. They served as VP, Treasurer and Managing Director of Dell Ventures at Dell from 1991 to 2001 and was CEO and a member of the Board of Managers of Meritage Capital, LLC from 2003 to 2018, when Meritage Capital combined with Brown Advisory. They were a Partner and Senior Advisor at Brown Advisory from 2018 to 2025. They currently serve as a board member of Kizen and of Keystone Bank, where they sit on the Audit, ALCO and Board Loan committees; they earned an MIM in International Finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management (1981–1982) and attended the University of Florida (1978–1981).
