Marcel Trimpl

Principal Research Scientist

Marcel Trimpl is a Principal Research Scientist at KLA since July 2014, specializing in the technology development of sensors and ASICs for next-generation review, inspection, and metrology systems. Prior to this role, Marcel worked as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory from January 2007 to July 2014, where projects focused on custom mixed signal ASICs, achieving accomplishments such as the first 3D multi-project wafer run in the High-Energy Physics community. Marcel's career also includes experience as a Visiting Postdoctoral Researcher at IPHC-CNRS Strasbourg in late 2006, engaged in the prototype design of an active pixel CMOS sensor for low-light imaging. Marcel earned a PhD in Physics from The University of Bonn (2000-2005) and a Master’s degree in Physics from TU Dortmund University (1994-1999).
