Mark Smith

Mark Smith is a highly experienced professional in the field of research and development, currently serving as Senior Director at KLA since February 2000. In this role, Mark directs development initiatives for existing and new software products within the MACH division, with a primary focus on the 5D Analyzer and PROLITH. Mark has progressed through various roles at KLA, including Director of advanced development for the 5D division and Research and Development Manager, where responsibilities included managing teams and developing cutting-edge simulation models for photolithography. Mark began a career in research as a Scientist at Finle Technologies, contributing to the PROLITH simulator prior to its acquisition by KLA-Tencor. Mark holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
