John Simiyu

John Simiyu has worked in the software engineering field since 2017. John started their career at Kitabu Microfinance as a Software Engineer, before moving to Vyrosoft in 2020 as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2021, they held the position of Lead Software Engineer at Emerging Capital Holdings and CTO at Virtual. Currently, they are employed by Klar as a Software Engineer, where they are responsible for developing and maintaining event-driven microservices, as well as writing regression, e2e, unit and IT tests and mentoring junior developers.

John Simiyu has an extensive education history. John attended Friends School Kamusinga from 2012 to 2015 and obtained their Highschool degree. John then went on to attend Kenyatta University, graduating in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication and Information Technology. Additionally, John has obtained several certifications from LinkedIn and IBM, including Building RESTful APIs with Flask, Internet of Things Intro, Application Security Engineer, Application Security Engineer-Masters Award, Mobile Application Developer, and Mobile Application Developer Mastery Award. John also holds an Africa Rising Certificate.
