KLEPS was founded in December 2013 by Pim and Erik. The idea of starting a brand, focused on snapback caps, arose during their 5-month trip through the United States. Their goal? Bring U.S. snapback cap culture to Europe.
While in the U.S., they visited 28 out of 50 States, traveled through multiple major cities, such as: New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Washington D.C., Las Vegas, San Francisco, Austin and Miami. Every State and every city gave them a unique look into American daily life, enabling them to grasp the American Dream.

Next, the beautiful vast landscapes, unspoilt nature and wild animals motivated Pim and Erik to chase their own version of the American Dream. Tramping across the most beautiful places in national parks such as the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Sequoia, the Everglades and the Key Islands.
