Klett-Cotta publishes a range of books and magazines with a wide range of topics: from literature and fantasy, through general non-fiction, history, politics and philosophy to psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, psychology and education.
Klett-Cotta, founded in 1977, took over the 300-year-old tradition of the famous Cotta publishing house. They publish fiction and non-fiction from the fields of history and society. The Imprints Hobbit Presse and Tropen belong to Klett-Cotta. In addition, with its range of specialist books and the Schattauer imprint, Klett-Cotta is one of the leading specialist book publishers in the field of psychology, psychotherapy and psychiatry. Magazines are also part of the Klett-Cotta program: Every month, the »Merkur« sets the standards for political and cultural essay writing in German-speaking countries. The magazine »Musik & Ästhetik« deals with the field of music from general and subject-specific, artistic and philosophical, cultural and political aspects.
