Svenska Klimatsekretariatet AB is a not-for-profit organization working to activate societal actors in the climate transition. Through research collaboration, education, and tools, we help unlock structures and patterns of thinking that stand in the way of real transformation. We collaborate with around 50 municipalities, regions, and county administrative boards across Sweden, and are members of the international Doughnut Economics Action Lab network.

Klimatsekretariatet has played a key role in popularizing carbon budgets in Sweden, in close collaboration with Uppsala University and the Tyndall Centre. Experience shows, however, that neither statistics, targets, nor action plans alone are enough to drive real change — the transition requires a broader paradigm shift. Carbon budgets retain their value as a compass and pedagogical foundation, but the focus of our work is moving toward broader systems change, grounded in a holistic perspective on transformation.
