Leah Bender

Testing Technician at KMC Controls

Leah Bender has worked as a Testing Technician at KMC Controls since March 2018, where they test HVAC Control software and firmware functionality and checks XML application files. From June 2021 to November 2021, they served as a 911 Call Taker at Elkhart County Government. Prior to that, they worked as an Emergency Dispatcher at TRI-COUNTY AMBULANCE SERVICE, INC. from November 2017 to March 2018. Leah also has experience as a Medical Assistant at Goshen Health from November 2017 to February 2018, where they performed intake charting, took vitals for patients, and assisted with bandaging, suture, staple, and cast removal. Earlier in their career, from July 2016 to November 2017, they worked in software testing at KMC Controls.

Leah Bender's education history is as follows:

Leah first attended the Elkhart Area Career Center from 2015 to 2016, where they obtained a certification in firefighting. Leah then attended high school from 2010 to 2016, focusing on fire science and firefighting as their field of study.

In 2020, Leah enrolled in Ivy Tech Community College. Leah pursued an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, and Related Protective Services. Additionally, they also pursued an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Psychology.

In addition to their educational accomplishments, Leah has acquired various certifications. Leah holds certifications in EMT, Firefighter I/II, and has completed several National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses (NIMS 100, NIMS 200, NIMS 230, NIMS 700, NIMS 800, and NIMS 907). These certifications were obtained through institutions such as the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and FEMA.
