Mojtaba Farmanbar

Mojtaba Farmanbar, PhD, is a seasoned data science and AI/ML professional currently serving as Lead AI/ML Engineer at Speakap since August 2025 and Expert Data Scientist at Knab since September 2023, where leadership in developing generative AI solutions and time series forecasting is a focus. Previous experience includes roles at ING Nederland as a Senior Data Scientist specializing in KYC, fraud, and cyber security, where significant contributions included fraud detection and anomaly detection models. Additional experience encompasses mentorship at Hello Mentor and a role as a Data Scientist/Product Owner at UL Identity Management & Security, providing expertise in API development for fraud detection. A postdoctoral researcher at the University of Twente, Farmanbar holds a PhD in Computational Physics from the same institution, along with an MSc in Condensed Matter Physics from Shahid Beheshti University. Notably, Farmanbar is also an organizing board member at PyData Amsterdam since November 2024.
